Falah
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This policy explains how the Falah iOS app (“Falah”, “we”, “us”) handles your information. In short: most of your data stays on your device, we only send something online when you allow it, and we never sell your data.
1. No account required
You can use Falah without creating an account. We do not ask for your email address or a password to use the app.
2. Data stored on your device
Falah stores the following only on your iPhone:
- The name you choose to enter
- Your onboarding answers
- Saved ayahs and notes
- Your preferences, such as language and display settings
- Reminder schedules
This data is not sent to our servers. If you delete the app, this data is deleted too, unless it is included in your own device backups (for example iCloud Backup, which is controlled by Apple and you).
3. Captures and online verse matching
Falah can find an ayah that fits a photo you take, or the words you type or speak.
- Before the first time anything is sent online, Falah asks for your permission. If you allow online verse matching, Falah sends that photo, or the text you typed or spoke, to Google Gemini through Falah’s own server, only to find a matching verse.
- Speech recognition happens on your device. Only the resulting text is sent, never the audio.
- The verse itself always comes from the Qur’an text built into the app. The AI does not write or change Qur’an.
- These photos and texts are not used for advertising or tracking.
- You can say no and use on-device matching only. You can change this at any time in Settings, under Privacy, Online verse matching. “Delete my data” also resets this choice.
4. Purchases
Subscriptions to Falah Pro are billed by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment, and Falah never sees your card number or billing details.
We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives your purchase and subscription status and an anonymous app user ID. Falah does not send your name or email to RevenueCat, and RevenueCat is not used for advertising or tracking.
5. Our server
Falah’s server (hosted on Cloudflare) passes verse-matching requests to Google Gemini. It uses your IP address only to limit how many requests can be made, so the service stays available and is not abused. It is not used for advertising or tracking.
6. Notifications
Reminders are optional. Falah asks for permission before sending notifications, and you can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings.
7. Analytics
Falah currently does not use third-party analytics. We do not sell or share your data for advertising. If we add analytics in the future, we will only use privacy-friendly tools, such as those provided by Apple, and we will update this policy first.
8. Service providers
- Google Gemini: finds a matching verse for a capture, only after you allow online verse matching.
- Cloudflare: hosts Falah’s server.
- RevenueCat: checks your Falah Pro subscription status.
- Apple: processes App Store payments.
9. No selling of personal data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. Ever.
10. Children
Falah is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be shown in the app.
